What I Said

I argued that ALAB was already priced for a long AI ramp, even though Q2 2026 revenue had reached $392.4M and was growing 104.5% year over year. I also flagged two specific risks: a customer that accounted for more than 70.0% of 2025 revenue, and a valuation that still sat at 51.6x EV/Revenue with only a 0.2% FCF yield. My view was that I would only get more constructive if revenue stayed above $400M and cash generation improved meaningfully.

Why It’s Working (Or Not)

Over this tracking window, a short position would have earned 18.4%, which means the Sell call has worked in the direction I expected. The stock’s decline also fits the original valuation argument: the market was paying for a cleaner cash-conversion path than the company had shown, and that premium has not held up in price. The peer group has also been mostly lower, but ALAB’s move is consistent with the broader weakness rather than being an outlier that would undermine the thesis. What matters most is that the specific setup I highlighted — rich valuation against a still-concentrated customer base and only a 0.2% FCF yield — has not been disproven by the price action.

What Could Still Prove Me Wrong

If revenue pushes back above $400M and stays there while free cash flow yield moves materially above 1.0%, I would have to revisit the bearish call. I would also be less confident if the customer concentration risk eases in a durable way, because that was one of the clearest reasons I thought the multiple was vulnerable. A sustained re-rating higher without those improvements would be the clearest sign that my valuation-first thesis was too cautious.
