What I Said

I argued that AEHR’s product differentiation and cash position were not enough to offset the core operating picture: revenue was still falling sharply year over year, margins were deeply negative, and cash flow was burning. My view was that the valuation left too little room for error unless the company could show sustained improvement in revenue, EBITDA, and cash generation.

Why It’s Working (Or Not)

So far, a short position would have worked: AEHR is down about 29.7% since my entry, which means the bearish signal has been rewarded. The peer group has also been weak overall, with most of the comparable names posting negative returns over the same window, so AEHR’s move has happened in a generally soft semiconductor-equipment backdrop rather than in isolation. That said, the key part of my thesis that has been validated is the idea that the stock had little margin for execution error; the market has continued to punish the name while the trailing fundamentals I highlighted remain the central concern. I still cannot claim the business has turned around, only that the price action has so far moved in the direction my Sell call anticipated.

What Could Still Prove Me Wrong

I would be wrong if AEHR starts showing the sustained operating improvement I said was missing: revenue stabilizing and then growing, EBITDA moving meaningfully toward breakeven, and cash burn easing rather than continuing. If the company can demonstrate that the negative-margin, cash-consuming profile is improving faster than the market expected, the valuation argument behind my Sell call would weaken. A durable rebound in the stock alongside those fundamentals would be the clearest evidence that my thesis no longer holds.
