What I Said
I rated OWLT a Sell because I thought the valuation was still ahead of the company’s cash generation and operating leverage. My original call leaned on three concrete points: gross margin was healthy at 50.9%, but customer concentration was high with three customers making up 66.5% of FY2025 revenue, and the stock still traded at 1.4x EV/revenue despite negative operating cash flow and levered free cash flow.

Why It’s Working (Or Not)
Over this tracking window, a short position would have earned 18.6%, which means the Sell call has worked to date. The stock has moved lower while the peer group has also been mostly down, but OWLT’s decline still fits the bearish setup I laid out rather than contradicting it. The specific concern I highlighted about paying a rich multiple for a business that was not yet self-funding has held up in price action, and the concentration risk I flagged has not been offset by a sustained rerating higher. I would not call this a full victory yet, but the evidence so far is consistent with the original thesis.
What Could Still Prove Me Wrong
I would be wrong if OWLT starts holding a higher revenue run rate above the $26.6M quarterly level while EBITDA margin turns positive, because that would show the operating leverage I said was missing. I would also reconsider the Sell if the company begins generating positive free cash flow, since that would directly challenge my cash-burn argument. A sustained move higher in the stock alongside improving fundamentals would be the clearest sign that the market was right to look past the current valuation.
