What I Said
I rated CIFR a Sell because I thought the stock was already pricing in a successful HPC ramp even though the reported revenue, cash flow, and leverage profile still looked like a business in transition. My view was that the site pipeline and interconnection assets were real, but the numbers had not yet shown those assets turning into stable, repeatable cash generation. I also said I would only get more constructive if revenue stayed above $70M for two straight quarters and operating cash flow moved much closer to breakeven.
Peer Comparison

|---|---|
| CIFR (this call) | -33.4% |

| IREN | -14.7% |
| MARA | -17.6% |
| RIOT | -17.3% |
Why It’s Working (Or Not)
Over this tracking window, following my Sell would have earned 33.4%, which means the bearish call has worked to date. CIFR has fallen from my entry price, and that move is consistent with my view that the valuation was too demanding for a company still proving its operating model. The peer group has also been mostly lower, so the stock has not been an isolated outlier, but CIFR has still moved in the direction that supported my thesis. The specific concern I highlighted — that the market was discounting a successful ramp before the business had shown durable cash generation — has not been disproven by the price action.
What Could Still Prove Me Wrong
If CIFR can hold and build on a sustained move back above the level implied by my entry while also showing that revenue is staying above $70M for consecutive quarters, I would have to reconsider the Sell. I would also be challenged if operating cash flow keeps moving materially closer to breakeven and the balance sheet stops looking like a heavy constraint on the story. In that case, the original argument that the stock was ahead of the fundamentals would be much weaker.
