What I Said
I argued that AMKR was a cash-generative packaging business, but that the stock already assumed a lot of success despite negative free cash flow, a 34.5x trailing earnings multiple, and ongoing dependence on capex discipline, margin stability, and customer concentration. My bearish case was that a normal slowdown in semiconductor demand, or any slip in quarterly revenue below $1.5B, would expose how much of the story was already priced in.

Why It’s Working (Or Not)
So far, a short position would have earned me 14.8%, which means the Sell call has worked in the direction I expected. The stock has fallen while the peer group has been mixed to higher overall, so AMKR has not simply moved with the pack; it has underperformed enough to support my original caution. The specific thesis point that negative free cash flow and a rich earnings multiple left little room for disappointment has held up better than the bull case. I have not seen evidence here that the customer-concentration or capex risks were resolved; if anything, the market has continued to discount them.
What Could Still Prove Me Wrong
What could still prove me wrong is a sustained improvement in the exact operating markers I flagged: quarterly revenue staying above $1.7B, free cash flow turning positive for two straight quarters, and EBITDA margin expanding by about 1 point or more. If AMKR shows that the Vietnam and Arizona investments are converting into cash without weakening utilization or margins, then my Sell would need to be reconsidered. A return to sub-$1.5B quarterly revenue would reinforce my view, but I would also watch for any evidence that customer concentration is causing lost orders or margin pressure.
