Ten companies met our criteria from the 12 10-K annual reports filed with the SEC on 27 August 2026. To qualify, a company must have filed an annual 10-K report on the target date and have a prior-year 10-K available for a direct year-over-year comparison. A prior-year filing was not available for Seebeks Corp. and Hyperliquid Strategies Inc, so they are excluded from the ranking.
SEC What Changed Methodology
Each company is scored on how similar its current annual filing text is to the prior year. Scores run from 0 to 1 — a score of 1 means the language is essentially unchanged; a lower score means more has changed. We flag three sections that carry the most disclosure signal: Business, Risk Factors, and MD&A. Recent research suggests that lower scores indicate that a company has made significant changes to their filings, these changes are often buried in the filings. If a company was to report positive news, they would likely do so in the form of a press release or statement on their website. The large changers have often underperformed in the market, while the stable-language filers have earned positive abnormal returns.
Key Takeaways
- IREN Ltd (High) — IREN is making a clear, material pivot from Bitcoin mining to AI infrastructure, and the key question now is whether it can execute the transition fast enough to protect growth and margins.
- ACCURAY INC (Medium) — Accuray is signaling a more aggressive push to improve margins through restructuring, and execution on that plan is now a key investor focus.
- Tech Tonic Group Corp. (Medium) — Tech Tonic burned less cash in 2026, but the lack of new financing underscores that it still depends on outside capital to keep operating.
- LANTRONIX INC (Medium) — Lantronix is signaling a more aggressive industrial IoT growth push, with Vecima integration now a central part of the story.
- Lifevantage Corp (Medium) — LifeVantage is signaling a small but real strategic shift into gut health, and investors should watch whether the LoveBiome assets and P84 launch can drive incremental growth without distracting from the core direct-sales business.
- MALIBU BOATS, INC. (Medium) — Malibu is signaling a bigger international growth push through Saxdor, but investors should watch integration and foreign-exposure risk closely.
- Affirm Holdings, Inc. (Medium) — Affirm is signaling a bigger strategic move into banking while keeping liquidity and debt obligations firmly in view.
- Lucky Strike Entertainment Corp (Medium) — Lucky Strike has crossed out of EGC status, increasing disclosure and audit obligations without changing the underlying control structure.
- AVIAT NETWORKS, INC. (Medium) — Aviat is signaling that AI, cyber, and supply-chain security are now more material business risks that could hit execution and margins.
- ALPHA & OMEGA SEMICONDUCTOR Ltd (Low) — This filing points to steady portfolio growth but a slower new-product cadence, suggesting incremental progress rather than a major business shift.

IREN is no longer presenting itself primarily as a Bitcoin miner with an AI side business. It is now framing the company as an AI cloud infrastructure platform and says it is actively shifting power and data center capacity away from mining and toward AI workloads. That points to a meaningful strategic pivot, with the company betting that AI demand will drive the next phase of growth.
Main Changes
- The business description was rewritten from a dual model of "100% renewable" Bitcoin mining plus HPC/AI services to "a vertically integrated AI Cloud Services platform" that owns the data center, compute and software layers.
- New language says the company "commenced decommissioning Bitcoin mining hardware and reallocating power and data center capacity toward AI Cloud Services" and aims to substantially complete that transition by December 31, 2026.
- The filing adds that IREN now serves "hyperscalers, frontier labs, AI developers and enterprises" and had about 40MW of operating AI Cloud Services capacity as of June 30, 2026.
- The company also expanded its power footprint disclosure to approximately 5GW of executed grid connection agreements, letters of agreement or equivalents across the U.S., Canada, Spain and Australia, plus a multi-GW pipeline.
Watch Items
- The shift away from Bitcoin mining signals a major capital allocation and revenue mix change, with AI now positioned as the core growth engine.
- The 2026 transition target raises execution risk around redeploying power, completing decommissioning, and ramping AI capacity fast enough to offset mining revenue decline.
- The larger power pipeline and international footprint suggest a more ambitious infrastructure buildout, but also greater exposure to permitting, grid, and regulatory constraints.

Accuray’s 10-K adds explicit references to a Transformation Plan and related restructuring, with management now pointing to cost savings and margin improvement as expected benefits. It also updates the list of trademarks and product names, including several new brand references. Overall, the filing reads like a company trying to sharpen operations while continuing to refresh its product positioning.
Main Changes
- The Business section now says the company expects benefits from its "Transformation Plan" and related restructuring activities, including "anticipated benefits, cost savings, margin improvements and timing thereof," which was not in the prior filing.
- Accuray expanded its trademark/product list to add new names including "Accuray Stellar," "QUICKPLAN," and "CYBERKNIFE VSI," while also updating some existing marks such as "TOMO".
- The filing also broadens the forward-looking discussion to include expectations tied to the Transformation Plan, signaling management is emphasizing operational changes alongside product and market commentary.
Watch Items
- The new Transformation Plan language suggests management is actively trying to improve margins and reduce costs, which could support profitability if execution is credible.
- New product and brand references may indicate a refreshed commercial lineup or marketing push, worth watching for signs of product-cycle momentum.
- Because the filing still highlights revenue timing, supply chain, reimbursement, and regulatory risks, investors should watch whether restructuring offsets those pressures.

In the past, we have not been in compliance with certain financial covenants relating to our indebtedness and have been required to obtain waivers or amend existing agreements governing our indebtedness to avoid defaulting under such indebtedness. ● Uncertainty or volatility in trade policy as well as enhanced international tariffs, including tariffs imposed by the United States and China that affect our products or components within our products, other trade barriers or a global trade war could decrease the volume of product sales in China and increase our costs and materially and adversely affect our business financial condition and results of operations. ● Our operating results, including our cash flows, quarterly orders, revenues and margins fluctuate from quarter to quarter and may be unpredictable. ● Our industry is subject to intense competition and rapid technological change, which may result in products or new tumor treatments that are superior to the CyberKnife and TomoTherapy platforms. If we are unable to anticipate or keep pace with changes in the marketplace and the direction of technological innovation and customer demands, our products may become obsolete or less useful and our operating results will suffer. ● We are subject to risks arising from our international operations, which may adversely affect our business, financial condition, and results of operations. ● Our results have been and may continue to be impacted by changes in foreign currency exchange rates. ● If we encounter manufacturing problems, or if our manufacturing facilities do not continue to meet federal, state or foreign manufacturing standards, we may be required to temporarily cease all or part of our manufacturing operations, which would result in delays and lost revenue. ● If we are unable to develop new products or enhance existing products to meet our customers’ needs and compete favorably in the market, we may be unable to attract or retain customers. ● If we do not effectively manage our growth, our business may be significantly harmed. ● We could become subject to product liability claims, product recalls, other field actions and warranty claims that could be expensive, divert management’s attention and harm our business. ● Our reliance on single-source suppliers for critical components of our products could harm our ability to meet demand for our products in a timely and cost effective manner. ● We depend on key employees, the loss of whom would adversely affect our business.

Tech Tonic’s 2026 filing shows a sharp drop in financing inflows, with no new cash raised during the year after a much larger capital raise in 2025. Operating cash use also improved modestly, but management still says it will need additional securities or debt to fund the business over time. The core story remains a small development-stage software company that is still reliant on external funding.
Main Changes
- The company says fiscal 2026 financing cash flow was "$0," versus "$62,977" in fiscal 2025, when it raised money through a related-party loan and common stock issuance.
- Operating cash use improved to "$3,000" in fiscal 2026 from "$7,697" in fiscal 2025, while the company also reported a "decrease in intangible assets" as the source of investing cash.
- Management kept the same funding message, saying working capital will be funded by "existing funds and further issuances of securities" and that it may need to raise additional capital for long-term operations.
- The company again disclosed no cybersecurity incidents, but now refers to fiscal 2026 rather than fiscal 2025 and says it relies on third-party providers with two-factor authentication and password controls.
Watch Items
- The absence of financing in 2026 matters because this is a development-stage company that still says it will need outside capital to fund growth and avoid dilution.
- Lower operating cash use is a modest positive, but the business still appears pre-revenue and dependent on future equity or debt raises.
- The unchanged going-forward funding language suggests management is still signaling capital dependence rather than self-sustaining operations.

Lantronix’s new 10-K adds explicit references to its acquisition of Vecima’s Industrial IoT business and frames the company around growth strategy, new products, and key vertical markets. The filing also shows a smaller employee base and updated leadership roles, suggesting the company is reorganizing to support its next phase of growth. Overall, the tone is more strategic and acquisition-driven than last year.
Main Changes
- The forward-looking statements section now says management expects benefits from its "recent acquisition of the Industrial IoT business of Vecima Networks," which was not referenced in the prior filing.
- Lantronix added new growth-oriented language around "our growth strategy," "customer acceptance of new products," and the "future potential and development of our primary vertical markets."
- The employee count fell to 330 total employees from 352 a year earlier, indicating a smaller operating footprint.
- The executive roster reflects recent leadership changes, including Brent Stringham as CFO, Mathi Gurusamy as Chief Product and Strategy Officer, and Kurt Hoff as Chief Revenue Officer.
Watch Items
- The Vecima acquisition mention suggests management is leaning into inorganic growth and may be repositioning the company around industrial IoT.
- The lower headcount could point to restructuring, integration, or cost discipline, which may affect near-term margins and execution.
- New emphasis on vertical-market development and product acceptance signals that revenue growth may depend on successful cross-sell and market adoption.

LifeVantage’s filing shows a modest but strategic expansion of the business. The company now highlights the LoveBiome asset acquisition and a new P84 gut-health product, signaling a push into a new wellness category alongside its existing supplement and skincare lines. The risk section remains broadly the same, with continued emphasis on consumer spending pressure, inflation, and supply disruptions.
Main Changes
- The business description now says LifeVantage acquired the critical operating assets of LoveBiome in October 2025 and launched the P84 System, described as a product that helps "regulate, repair and restore gut health."
- The product lineup was expanded to include "gut health products" and the new P84 System, while the prior list included "pre- and pro-biotics" and PhysIQ Fat Burn and Prebiotic products.
- The international footprint was updated: Hong Kong and Singapore were removed from the country list, while Iceland and Portugal were added.
- In Risk Factors, the macroeconomic and pandemic language was tightened slightly, with the COVID-19 reference narrowed to "health epidemics or outbreaks" and the prior explicit "resurgence in the COVID-19 pandemic" wording removed.
Watch Items
- The LoveBiome asset acquisition and P84 launch suggest LifeVantage is broadening beyond supplements into gut-health, which could open a new growth lane but also adds integration risk.
- The updated product mix implies management is leaning harder into wellness categories with broader consumer appeal, which may support cross-selling through the direct-sales network.
- The risk-factor cleanup does not add a new major threat, but the company still flags inflation, tariffs, weak discretionary spending, and supply constraints as meaningful demand headwinds.

Malibu’s new filing reflects a broader, more international business profile after the Saxdor acquisition. Management now explicitly discusses foreign tax filings, foreign operating risks, and the need to integrate Saxdor, while also updating product-demand risks to include electric and alternative-fuel boats. The changes point to a company that is expanding beyond its traditional U.S.-centric footprint, but with more complexity attached.
Main Changes
- The Business section now says the company includes "Maverick Boat Group" and adds "Saxdor files income tax returns in Finland and Poland," which was not in the prior filing.
- The risk discussion now explicitly names the "recent acquisition of Saxdor" as part of the growth-and-integration story, replacing the prior more general reference to acquisitions.
- The filing adds new foreign-jurisdiction wording, including "difficulties presented by international economic, political, legal, and business factors" and "risks and requirements related to transacting business in foreign countries."
- The company also broadened product-demand risk to include "electric boats" and "alternative fuel-powered boats," and added an "increase in energy and fuel costs" as a specific risk.
Watch Items
- Saxdor’s addition signals Malibu is leaning further into international expansion, which can widen the addressable market but also raises integration and execution risk.
- The new foreign-tax and foreign-business references suggest a more global earnings base, but also more exposure to regulatory, currency, and geopolitical complexity.
- The added electric and alternative-fuel boat language shows management is tracking shifts in consumer preferences and competitive product mix.

Affirm’s filing now explicitly flags the planned launch of Affirm Bank as a key future initiative, making the company’s strategic direction more visible to investors. It also tweaks product wording to include promotions, while the core debt and liquidity warnings around the 2026 and 2029 notes remain in place. Overall, the filing points to a company that is still focused on growth and funding flexibility, but with meaningful execution and balance-sheet considerations.
Main Changes
- The forward-looking statements list now explicitly includes "the plan for the establishment of Affirm Bank and the benefits and timing thereof," adding a new strategic initiative that was not called out before.
- The company changed product wording from "development, innovation, introduction of, and demand for, our products" to "our promotions and products," which broadens the commercial focus beyond products alone.
- Affirm replaced "our ability to achieve sustained profitability in the future" with "our ability to sustain profitability in the future," a small wording shift with the same core meaning.
- The debt risk disclosure on the 2026 and 2029 Notes remains substantially the same, continuing to warn that cash may be needed for repurchases, conversions, or maturity payments and that failure to pay could trigger default.
Watch Items
- The new Affirm Bank reference signals a more direct push into bank-like operations, which could expand funding flexibility but also raise regulatory and execution risk.
- The unchanged note-related risk language keeps liquidity and refinancing pressure on the radar, especially if cash is needed to meet conversion or repurchase obligations.
- The broader mention of promotions suggests management may be leaning more on merchant/consumer incentives to drive growth, which can affect margins.

Lucky Strike’s biggest filing update is that it is no longer an emerging growth company, so it must now follow the fuller reporting and audit requirements that apply to larger public companies. The company also updated its forward-looking language and kept the same message that control remains concentrated with Atairos and Mr. Shannon. For investors, this is more about a step-up in disclosure and compliance than a change in operating strategy.
Main Changes
- MD&A now says the company "ceased to be an EGC" after the fifth anniversary of the March 2021 IPO and is now subject to Section 404(b) auditor attestation and full non-EGC executive compensation disclosure.
- The company removed the old statement that it "has elected not to opt out" of the extended transition period as an EGC and replaced it with language saying it "may no longer use" that transition period for new accounting standards.
- Forward-looking statement boilerplate now explicitly adds "business strategy, financial projections, anticipated growth and market opportunities" to the list of topics covered.
- The filing continues to emphasize concentrated control by Atairos and Mr. Shannon and the company’s status as a NYSE "controlled company," with the same governance exemptions still available.
Watch Items
- Losing EGC status usually means more disclosure, more compliance burden, and less reporting flexibility, which can modestly raise operating costs.
- Section 404(b) auditor attestation can improve internal-control credibility, but it also increases scrutiny if controls are weak.
- The controlled-company structure means governance remains concentrated, so minority shareholders still have limited influence over board and strategic decisions.

Aviat’s filing adds several new risk disclosures, led by AI and machine-learning exposure and a broader set of cyber and supplier-security concerns. The company is also more explicit that third-party breaches or misuse of its proprietary information could hurt its competitive position and disrupt deliveries. It further flags negative publicity as a potential source of stock volatility and regulatory or legal follow-on risk.
Main Changes
- The company added a new risk that its "development and use of AI and ML technologies" — and their use by competitors, customers and threat actors — create "operational, competitive, legal and reputational risks."
- A new cyber-related disclosure says contract manufacturers and suppliers may suffer attacks that could delay shipments or impair Aviat’s ability to fulfill customer obligations.
- The filing now warns that third-party manufacturers and suppliers may not adequately protect Aviat’s proprietary designs and know-how, and that unauthorized access or disclosure could let competitors develop competing products.
- Aviat also added that negative reports or publicity could harm its reputation, trigger stock-price declines, increase volatility, and lead to litigation or regulatory inquiries.
Watch Items
- The AI/ML risk suggests management sees emerging technology as a real operating and competitive issue, not just a generic disclosure.
- Expanded supplier and contract-manufacturer cyber language points to higher supply-chain fragility and potential shipment disruption if partners are breached.
- The new reputation and publicity warning signals management is more sensitive to investor, customer, or regulatory scrutiny.

any loss of a material tax dispute; a successful challenge to our operating structure, intercompany pricing policies or the taxable presence of our key subsidiaries in certain countries; or other factors could cause volatility in our effective tax rate and could adversely affect our operating results. • Our ability to use net operating loss carryforwards to offset future taxable income for U.S. federal income tax purposes and other tax benefits may be limited.

Alpha & Omega Semiconductor’s business section shows modest expansion in its product and patent portfolio, but the pace of new product introductions was lower than in the prior two years. The company still describes itself in the same core terms, so the filing reads as an incremental update rather than a strategic reset. The only other notable update is a change in the Bermuda registered office address.
Main Changes
- The company said its power semiconductor portfolio grew to approximately 2,900 products from approximately 2,800, and new product introductions slowed to over 70 in fiscal 2026 from over 100 in fiscal 2025 and 2024.
- Issued U.S. patents increased to 961 from 949, pending U.S. patents rose to 78 from 64, and foreign patents increased to 991 from 961.
- The business description still emphasizes being a designer, developer and global supplier of power semiconductors, with no new strategy or end-market shift disclosed.
- The corporate office address in Bermuda changed from Clarendon House, 2 Church Street to Richmond House, 12 Par-la-Ville Road.
Watch Items
- The larger patent portfolio supports the company’s technology moat, but investors should watch whether slower new-product cadence signals a more mature growth phase.
- A smaller increase in product launches could imply more selective R&D deployment or softer demand for new designs.
- No material change in business model was disclosed, so the main read-through is incremental scale rather than strategic repositioning.

Why SEC Filing Changes Matter
Research by Cohen et al. (Lazy Prices, 2020) — using the complete history of SEC filings from 1995 to 2014 — shows that when firms make active changes to their annual disclosures, those changes convey an important signal about future operations and returns. A portfolio that shorted "changers" and bought "non-changers" earned over 22% per year in annual alpha historically. Changes to the Risk Factors section, Business description, and language referring to the executive team were especially informative. Critically, these returns accrued gradually as information was later revealed through news and earnings — not at the time of filing — suggesting many investors remain inattentive to these simple, public signals. This snapshot is a starting point for deeper investigation, not a buy or sell recommendation.
